The Shift Supervisor is responsible for ensuring efficient production and safety of the night crews in all production departments. He/she coordinates short turnaround financial work for evening production and adjusts jobs and job queues from time to time. The Shift Supervisor maintains open communication on production status with Project Managers, customers and other affected parties.



Required Skills & Experience:

Able to work rotating shifts, with an emphasis on night shift initially

Strong computer skills

Must have strong written and verbal communication skills

Postsecondary degree or diploma is preferred

5 to 7 years of experience supervising a team/department, preferably in printing

Possess a customer service mindset

Previous exposure to scheduling and/or production planning

Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills

Must be a team player able to build relationships across different shifts



Key Responsibilities:

Ensure that jobs are manufactured on time and meet quality standards.

Investigate non-compliance reports (NCRs) and document findings, implement identified process improvements.

Manage inventory/paper use and make recommendations regarding material orders.

Ensure materials supplied meet quality standards.

Actively communicate with production staff to discuss jobs and to resolve issues.

Maintain good relationships with staff and communicate daily turnarounds with day time production manager.

Communicate with customers regarding financial work job status.

Enter financial print jobs in POEM and perform necessary associated overrides when jobs come in after Customer Service support has ended for the night.

Supervise night/continental night production staff.

Manage production to attain Key Performance Metrics (KPIs) on a daily basis.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
