Printer Gateway, a leading trade printer, is seeking a Press Feeder for a Komori press. Daily responsibilities include assisting in the operation of the sheet fed press. The Press Feeder assists in achieving quality and throughput goals and further assists Press Operator in maximizing press throughput, by ensuring that presses are supplied properly prior to print production, to ensure press efficiencies are met.

Key functions of the role include:

• Review and understand work order to determine quantity, stock specifications, colors, special printing instructions, and any special customer requirements

• Quickly and efficiently assist in the make ready of the press

• Assist in the start-up and operation the press efficiently

• Fill containers of cleaning solvents, water, fountain solution and ink as needed

• Assist the Press Operator with mounting plates

• Continuously check for quality defects on product running off conveyor belt and communicate with the Press Operator when problems arise

• Palletize stacks of finished product on skid

• Thoroughly clean up the press including washing blankets, blanket cylinders, impression cylinders and other areas of the press requiring cleaning

• Gum plates thoroughly so they run easily when used again

• Perform preventative maintenance including lubrication, roller inspection and deglazing, new blanket preparation, clean water tanks and make roller changes

• Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned press and surrounding work area

• Other duties as assigned

Required Experience, Knowledge, and Qualifications:

• Work experience on the same or a functionally similar press for a minimum of 1 year

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Intermediate math skills to complete calculations

• Proficient in reading/writing English

• Ability to read and understand written instructions

• Ability to work as part of a team

• Understanding need for Health & Safety and being alert in a manufacturing environment

• Punctual and dependable

• Team player

• Strong customer focus

• Willingness to be flexible to accept assigned duties and work overtime, as necessary
