CCL Label a division of CCL Industries Inc., is the world's largest converter of pressure sensitive and film materials for Label applications.
We are currently looking to fill the Prepress Operator/ Production Artist position at our Toronto plant.
POSITION: Prepress Operator/Production Artist (14 month Contract)
REPORTS TO: Graphic Arts Manager
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Creating art, proofs & final film / PDFs / Post Script files for customers based on the specifications received in the Specification file, Design Sheet and/or from the customer directly; strictly adhering to CCL’s Customer Special Procedures (CSP’s), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
•Proof reading own & other team member’s proofs and final film/electronic files before sending to the customer and/or plate room (manual and electronic verification).
•Pre-flighting electronic files received and sent via e-mail or FTP to customers or outside suppliers.
•Maintain an organized electronic file system.
•Time manage work load based on external and internal requirements.
•Ability to work overtime when required.
Minimum of 4 years Production Graphics’ experience within a printing environment
•Demonstrated excellent MAC computer skills including CS5/CS6 (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Acrobat)
•Experience in applying traps to electronic files and using RIPs
•Excellent typing, proofing, communication, organizational and housekeeping skills
•Ability to work well in a team environment with minimum supervision
•Preference will be given to candidates possessing knowledge of Lithographic, Flexographic / Rotary Silkscreen and Digital Printing processes
•Preference will be given to those with working knowledge and experience in an Esko workflow
