Working in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and regulations, provide support for video, audio and photographic services with some graphic design;
  1. Plan, coordinate, develop and produce audio-visual communication packages for internal and external use. Coach and provide assistance to customers to facilitate projects by establishing program criteria such as subject matter, audience, program objectives, etc. Advise customer on media and production options and their associated costs for each project. Determine best production methods anticipating technical, procedural, safety and legal constraints. Develop outlines, storyboards, scripts and draft copies of proposed products for customer's review. Narrate, or arrange for narration of audio scripts. Produce final versions and duplication services of material for distribution.
  2. Provide video, graphic design, audio and photographic services and consulting in studio and field locations. Maintain and utilize professional calibre studio and field production and post-production facilities and equipment. Use appropriate mediums to support customer requirements. Make recommendations or selection of best format, processes and techniques to ensure best results for each project. Provide services to document work processes for procedural and technical review.
  3. Maintain equipment, including periodic operational checks, routine maintenance and testing. Integrate new equipment into existing production systems, ensuring compatibility with existing equipment and anticipated future equipment needs. Carry out or arrange for equipment maintenance and repairs as required. Troubleshoot system and software problems. Assess new software as it becomes available and make recommendations for acquisition.
  4. Prepare work load status reports, equipment inventories and booking logs. Develop and maintain a library of audio-visual materials. Catalogue all audio-visual material, prepare reports to increase awareness of material available and promote its use.
  5. Maintain operational and theoretical expertise in all aspects of video, audio, photographic/reprographic and graphic design. Investigate and assess new techniques and equipment. Bring to Supervisor's attention innovative and new techniques or equipment that would enhance production. Arrange with suppliers for demonstrations and appropriate reports, and develop purchase justifications to effect recommendations to Supervisor for equipment acquisitions.
  6. Provide limited supervision on a periodic basis to students and other staff as assigned. Assign, check, provide advice and instructions on work procedures, processes and techniques associated with the work function.
  7. Perform filing and other administrative tasks as required to support the work function.
  8. Obtain direction from supervisor on conflicting priorities, scheduling and policies.
  9. Accountable for the health, safety and well being of self and others, in accordance with technical/operating procedures and standards.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Grade 12 and two years of further study in a related field or equivalent.

Experience with Final Cut Pro is a requirement;

Currently active in producing videos, audio tracks, staging events, direction of production editing and producing final cut products. Skilled in professional/business photogrphy working with props and people.
