We are currently seeking applications from commercially and strategically minded individuals for the role of Product Driver Prepress & Workflow Solutions, based at our Melbourne office.

Reporting to the General Manager – Product Management and being an integral member of the HAN Product Management Team, this position will be the HAN product driver for Kodak Prepress Products working in conjunction with Sales, Business Consultancy, Customer Support, Consumables Sales and Marketing, as well as counterparts in HAP and HDM, to develop and implement the strategic direction for the HAN Solution Centre Prepress.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to the following):
  • To work in conjunction with other Product Managers, Marketing and other key stakeholders to develop and implement product, pricing, promotional objectives, strategies and tactics for each Kodak products and the Solution in general.
  • In close conjunction with HAN’s Product Manager for Prepress & Workflow, this position has responsibility for the development of AOP (Annual Operating Plan) overall unit sales targets in conjunction with all HAN stakeholders for Prepress & Workflow Solutions and achievement of AOP for unit sales, revenue, contribution margin and market share.
  • Responsible for the budgeting and monitoring of sales through the Dealer channel to meet overall targets for unit sales, revenue, contribution margin and market share.
  • In close conjunction with HAN’s Product Manager for Prepress & Workflow develop a positioning paper of Kodak products in comparison to Heidelberg’s workflow and hardware solutions as well as establishing the base to mix products from both portfolios with each other.
  • To provide strategic business management for Prepress & Workflow so that Heidelberg is the major supplier for Prepress & Workflow Solutions in Australia/New Zealand.
  • To identify new product opportunities / agencies that complement the existing product range and secure supply / representation for HAN and establish commercial, logistical and technical arrangements for the sale of the equipment in line with objectives.
  • To be the key point of contact for Kodak Prepress products, including the determination and accuracy of equipment specifications, identification of USP’s (unique selling points) and the development of price positioning strategies and tactics.
  • Responsible for ensuring effective and beneficial internal and external channel relationships are established for Prepress Solutions, in particular with the product supplier as well as the various dealers in Australia and New Zealand.
  • To report to key stakeholders using systems and formats as required for customer information, market shares, lost sales, market surveys, competitive product and competitor activity, and general industry observations.
  • To ensure all stakeholders are trained and knowledgeable about Prepress Solutions, their use and benefits by keeping one’s own knowledge up to date and conducting regular and ongoing training (formal and informal).
  • To assist the development of Prepress Solutions in the marketplace by helping to identify sales opportunities from existing and new customers into existing and new segments and applications by being proactive through the creation of leads based on product capability.
  • Demonstrate attitudes, behaviours and actions that ensure HAN is Customer centric, embraces the actions and objectives of HAN Moving Forward (i.e. company values), is perceived as professional, and representative of the recognised status of market leader; is a natural leader aligned to the business objectives, a self starter, proactive and a cross functional team player.

Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have
  • a relevant Industry Trade Qualification or License and tertiary qualifications, preferably in Marketing or similar relevant commercial discipline;
  • a sound understanding of Kodak’s current plate technology in conjunction with Kodak’s and Heidelberg’s range of CTP devices for all printing applications;
  • proven skills in colour management in printing, awareness of required tools and software as well as the ability to successfully explain the topic to internal and external customers;
  • demonstrated experience as a Business Development Manager, Product Manager, Sales Professional or Technical expert with experience in the Graphic Arts Industry, in particular for the Kodak Prepress product range;
  • demonstrated ability to develop and implement marketing plans for products and services in a B2B situation for high value capital plant in a high technology sector;
  • demonstrated ability to conduct training sessions and presentations for highly complex products to a wide variety of audiences and present the material in a manner which maximises the learning potential of the audience;
  • demonstrated ability to develop, build and maintain effective working relationships both internally and externally and at all levels;
  • proven ability to manage indirect sales channels for complex high-tech products, push, steer and monitor indirect sales;
  • solid experience working as part of a customer focussed organisation, with a strong emphasis on internal customer service, in addition to external customers and demonstrated experience in Project Management and Management Report Writing.
Conditions of Employment:
This position is of a permanent full time nature, based in Melbourne. There will be a regular travel requirement of approximately 2 to 3 nights away from home on a monthly basis and approximately twice per year of 2 to 3 weeks’ duration.

Salary will be determined according to qualifications and experience of the successful candidates and local employment terms and conditions apply.

Our Client is a well established, commercial offset sheet fed, digital print and finishing operation who have succesfully weathered the economic downturn. Due to increased business volume they require senior level prepress operators well experienced in all aspects of file preparation for CTP and digital print output. Experience and work history are important in this role but our Client is keen to find energetic, enthusiatic, detail orientated, team players who can excel in a fast paced environment. We would be very interested in well qualified Prepress Operators capable of running the Xerox IGen 3 or 4 Digital Press.
