Key Duties & Responsibilities Include the following:
1)Pre-flight and Organization of Incoming Jobs:
- Checks supplied designers’ file for new jobs and verifies it to the supplied hard copy for any discrepancies.
- Ensures that all necessary fonts and placed art are supplied.
- Verifies colours used and checks the resolution of any images.
- Outputs a proof of all images used and notes name, resolution and colours.
- Explains any discrepancies and/or potential problems with the customer’s artwork to the coordinators.
2) Assembly:
- Reads and executes all of the instructions on the change form.
- Understands how to read customer supplied change forms.
- Able to organize a pre-production meeting with coordination for evaluation of new projects
- Creates consistent artwork for related packaging.
- Indicates the colour rotation on the proof as per the docket system.
3) Completed Job Quality Control Check:
- Checks for consistency of created artwork to each related sku.
- Checks for file structure and organization of layering within the file.
- Can proofread copy for type errors and visually check placement of graphic elements for a successful marketable product.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Completion college preferred with a focus on art, graphics or computers.
- Excellent MAC computer skills, including knowledge of MAC stripping.
- Proven experience using MAC software including Illustrator, Freehand, Quark and Photoshop.
- Understanding of traps (including size and application
- Strong interpersonal skill and customer service focus.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

- Expert knowledge of industry standard software applications (Illustrator, Photoshop)

Job Description:
The Outdoor Graphics - Print & Pre-flight Operator is responsible for accurately outputting colour prints ensuring high quality
and efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate MAC/PC computer software to print large format colour jobs
- Retrieve digital files accurately from storage on a network, ftp site, email and/or CD/DVD for print set-up and production
- Proof finished products for any errors, including colour and size deviations
- Communicate and trouble shoot with other departments to meet deadlines
- Provide general cleaning and maintenance of colour printers
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and department
- Follow procedures established to ensure accurate work
- Retrieve stock from warehouse for printing
- Gather, organize, and wrap completed work for delivery to customer or next department
- Trimming, and or grommeting of completed orders
- Monitor work for high quality
- Some heavy lifting
