This position is a 7 month contract position, with a strong possibility of moving to full time permanent.

The primary role of this position is to apply technical/mechanical operational skills into production for 3000 series HP Indigo digital presses. Duties involve the daily set-up and calibration of the presses, monitoring and replacement of paper and consumables, organization of time and production of the work load to meet published timelines. This position will also assist with the weekly and monthly maintenance routines to ensure maximum uptime of the digital printing equipment. Level 1diagnostic skills and operational IT support reporting to Production Lab Team Leader. The metrics used to assess the competence of this role will be dependent on daily production output and the demonstrated competency in applying HP Shared Maintenance training. Additional tasks and responsibilities will include:

Daily set-up and shut down, press operations and paper supply reloading.
Meeting expected uptime on equipment and producing quality products on schedule with the guaranteed time lines.
Workflow Management- Daily organizing and prioritizing of incoming customer orders to match with finishing routines.
Changing of consumable material such as blankets, pips, and impression paper.
Maintaining weekly and monthly-maintenance schedules and entry data for the necessary reports.
Level 1 diagnostic skills and operational IT support.
Proactively responds to production level IT outages as trained.
As business demands change from season to season training in other department will be provided to allow press technicians to move from one department to another as needed.

The ideal candidate will have the following required qualifications:

Computer media diploma or 2 years printing press experience.
Mechanical skills, technical calibrations and physical lifting (up to 30lbs, standing and twisting) of press supplies.
Highly organized time management skills in a fast paced environment.
HP Press Operations Training for HP 3000 series.
HP Front End Tools for Prepress Training.
HP Shared Maintenance Training.
